(This note is not part of the Rules)
These Rules correct rule 8(5) of the Registered Design Rules (SI 1995/2912) and rule 10(5) of the Trade Mark Rules 2000 (SI 2000/136). Both of these provisions were amended incorrectly by the Patents, Trade Marks and Designs (Address For Service and Time Limits, etc) Rules 2006 (SI 2006/760). These Rules substitute the word “registrar” for the word “comptroller” in both rule 8(5) of the Registered Design Rules 1995 and rule 10(5) of the Trade Mark Rules 2000.
1949 c. 88; section 36(1A) was inserted by section 272 of, and paragraph 26(1) of Schedule 3 to, the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (c. 48), there are other amendments but none is relevant.
SI 1995/2912; rule 8 was substituted by SI 2006/760, to which there are other amendments not relevant to these Rules.
SI 2000/136; rule 10 was substituted by SI 2006/760, to which there are other amendments not relevant to these Rules
