SCHEDULEAmendment to the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) (Second General System) Regulations 2002

In Schedule 6, Part 1, under heading “3. Seafaring sector, Training for the following: (a) Sea transport”—

(a)the following is inserted after the entry for the Netherlands, which ends with the words “VTS-official (“VTS-functionaris”),”—

In Romania:

Maritime helmsman II/4 ST CW (“timonier maritim”),

(b)the following is inserted after “which represents training” and after the entry for the Netherlands, which ends with the words “culminating each in an examination,”—

  • in Romania:

    for Maritime helmsman II/4 ST CW (“timonier maritim”), a person not less than 18 years of age who:

    (i)

    holds an appropriate certificate of competence of seaman (secondary school maritime studies); has completed a period of seagoing service of 24 months as seaman on board seagoing ships, out of which at least 12 months have been performed within the last five year years; has attended an approved course for promotion to execution level (7 days); or

    (ii)

    holds an appropriate certificate of competence of seaman (secondary school maritime studies) and holds a certificate of competence of radio operator, techno-operator in the maritime mobile service; has completed a period of seagoing service of 24 months as seaman and as radio operator, techno-operator in the maritime mobile service, or GMDSS-GOC operator; has attended an approved course for promotion to execution level (7 days),.
