The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(1).
The Secretary of State for Transport is a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to compulsory insurance in respect of, and other means of providing for, civil liability in relation to motor vehicles and trailers(2).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Compulsory Insurance) (Information Centre and Compensation Body) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and shall come into force on 1st December 2007.
2.—(1) The Motor Vehicles (Compulsory Insurance) (Information Centre and Compensation Body) Regulations 2003(3) are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 2(1), omit the definition of “guarantee fund”.

These Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (Compulsory Insurance) (Information Centre and Compensation Body) Regulations 2003 by omitting the definition of “guarantee fund”, an expression which is not used elsewhere in the Regulations, from regulation 2(1). A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
1972 c.68. The enabling powers of section 2(2) of this Act were extended by virtue of the amendment of section 1(2) by section 1 of the European Economic Area Act 1993 (c.51).
