Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1(3)
The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the National Assembly for Wales are designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community.
Acting jointly (the National Assembly for Wales acting in relation to Wales only), in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by that section, they make the following Regulations:
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Plant Protection Products (Amendment) Regulations 2007.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Plant Protection Products Regulations 2005(3).
(3) These Regulations come into force—
(a)for the purposes of regulation 2(3), on 1st July 2007;
(b)for the purposes of regulation 2(4), on 1st November 2007;
(c)for the purposes of regulation 2(5), on 1st December 2007;
(d)for the purposes of regulation 2(6), on 1st February 2008;
(e)for all other purposes on 31st March 2007.
2.—(1) The principal Regulations are amended as follows.
(2) At the end of Schedule 1 (instruments amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC), insert in the respective columns indicated the entries set out in Part 1 of the Schedule to these Regulations.
(3) At the end of Schedule 1, insert in the respective columns indicated the entries set out in Part 2 of the Schedule to these Regulations.
(4) At the end of Schedule 1, insert in the respective columns indicated the entry set out in Part 3 of the Schedule to these Regulations.
(5) At the end of Schedule 1, insert in the respective columns indicated the entry set out in Part 4 of the Schedule to these Regulations.
(6) At the end of Schedule 1, insert in the respective columns indicated the entry set out in Part 5 of the Schedule to these Regulations.

These Regulations amend the Plant Protection Products Regulations 2005 (S.I. 2005/1435) (“the principal Regulations”) which implement in England and Wales Council Directive 91/414/EEC concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market (OJ No. L230, 19.8.91, p.1, as read with corrigenda published in OJ No. L170, 25.6.92, p.40).
Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations, which sets out the instruments that amend that Directive, is amended by the insertion of the entries set out in the five Parts of the Schedule to these Regulations.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
