2.—(1) In these Regulations—
“the EC Directive” means Council Directive 2001/86/EC of 8 October 2001 supplementing the Statute for a European Company with regard to the involvement of employees(1);
“the EC Regulation” means Council Regulation 2157/2001/EC of 8 October 2001 on the Statute for a European Company(2).
(2) References in these Regulations to numbered Articles are, unless otherwise specified, references to Articles in the EC Regulation.

Explanatory Memorandum
Explanatory Memorandum sets out a brief statement of the purpose of a Statutory Instrument and provides information about its policy objective and policy implications. They aim to make the Statutory Instrument accessible to readers who are not legally qualified and accompany any Statutory Instrument or Draft Statutory Instrument laid before Parliament from June 2004 onwards.
