The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 14(6) and 22A(2) of the Football Spectators Act 1989(1).
The Secretary of State considers that the provision made by article 2 of this Order is expedient in order to secure the effective enforcement of Part II of that Act.
1989 c. 37. Section 14 was substituted, together with sections 14A to 14J, for existing sections 14 to 17 by section 1(1) of , and paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 1 to, the Football (Disorder) Act 2000 (c. 25). Section 22A was inserted by section 1(2) of, and paragraphs 9 and 18 of Schedule 2 to, the Football (Disorder) Act 2000; section 22A was amended by section 65 of, and Schedule 5 to, the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (c. 38) and section 39(2) of the Identity Cards Act 2006 (c. 15).
