(5) A current system student [F8other than a F9... 2009, 2012 or 2016 cohort student] who qualifies for a special support grant in respect of an academic year receives an amount as follows in respect of that year—
(a)where the household income is £18,360 or less, the student receives [F10£3,878];
(b)where the household income exceeds £18,360 but does not exceed [F11£39,587], the student receives an amount equal to where—
M is [F11£3,878]
A is £1 for every complete [F11£4.47] by which the household income exceeds £18,360 but does not exceed [F11£28,114];
B is £1 for every complete [F11£6.97] by which the household income exceeds [F11£28,114] but does not exceed [F11£39,587];
(c)where the household income exceeds [F12£39,587], no special support grant is payable.
