2.—(1) Schedule 2 (Rules for Conduct of an Election of Councillors of a Principal Area where Poll is not taken together with Poll at another Election) and Schedule 3 (Rules for Conduct of an Election of Councillors of a Principal Area where the Poll is taken together with the Poll at a Relevant Election or Referendum) to the Local Elections (Principal Areas) (England and Wales) Rules 2006(1) are amended as follows.
(2) After rule 16(3) in each Schedule insert:
“(3A) If a candidate who is the subject of an authorisation by two or more parties under rule 5(3) so requests, the ballot paper must contain, against the candidate’s particulars, the registered emblem (or, as the case may be, one of the registered emblems) of one of those parties.”.
(3) In rule 16(4) in each Schedule, after the words “under paragraph (3)” insert “or (3A)”.
