The Secretary of State makes the following Rules in exercise of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Prison Act 1952(1).
1952 c.52. Section 47 was amended by section 6 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (c. 33). There have been other amendments but none are relevant. Section 66(4) of the Criminal Justice Act 1967 (c. 80) provides that any instrument containing rules made under section 47 of the Prison Act 1952 is subject to annulment in pursuance of a resolution of either House of Parliament.
