(This note is not part of the Regulations)
Section 1 of the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation and Exercise of Functions) Act 2018 (c. 28) (“the 2018 Act”) extended the time under section 16A of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (c. 47) for Northern Ireland Ministers to be appointed until 26th March 2019. These Regulations extend the period for the appointment of Northern Ireland Ministers by 5 months so that the period for the appointment of Northern Ireland Ministers under the Northern Ireland Act 1998 ends with 25th August 2019.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sectors is foreseen.
