The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Under Article 41 of the Charter of the United Nations the Security Council of the United Nations has, by a resolution adopted on 31st October 2005, called upon Her Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom to apply certain measures to give effect to decisions of that Council in relation to Lebanon(1):

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 1 of the United Nations Act 1946(2) and by section 63(3)(c) and (4) of the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018(3), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to make the following Order:

(1)

The Security Council of the United Nations adopted resolution 1636 (2005) on 31 October 2005 (“resolution 1636”). Paragraph 3(a) of resolution 1636 requires States to take the necessary measures to prevent the entry into or transit through their territories of all persons named pursuant to that paragraph.
