The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 50(1) and (2)(b) of the Police Act 1996(1).
In accordance with section 50(2ZC) of that Act(2), the text of these Regulations has been approved by the College of Policing.
Section 50(2ZC) was inserted by section 123(1) of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 (c. 12). Section 123 was subject to a correction slip published on 4th August 2014. Section 50(2ZC) was amended by section 48(1), (3), and (6) of the Policing and Crime Act 2017 (c. 3) but those amendments are not yet in force.
