The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 45B, 45F(2) and 45P(2) of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984(1).

Citation, commencement, extent and application

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) (Amendment) (No. 14) Regulations 2021 and come into force at 4.00 a.m. on 8th May 2021.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales and apply in relation to England only.

Amendment of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020

2.  In Schedule 3 (specified competitions) to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020(2)—

(a)omit the following entries—

(i)“Curling Euro Super Series”;

(ii)“Betfair Hurdle Day horse-racing”;

(iii)“Billie Jean King Cup Play-offs by BNP Paribas - Great Britain v Mexico”;

(iv)“Women’s Invitational International Football Tournament (hosted by the FA)”;

(v)“World Snooker Tour - Pro Tour Series”;

(vi)“World Snooker Tour - Tour Championship”;

(vii)“All-Weather Finals Day horse-racing”;

(viii)“Aintree Grand National Meeting horse-racing”;

(ix)“Challenger Series Finals Day horse-racing”;

(x)“Cheltenham April Meeting horse-racing”;

(xi)“Classic Trial Day & Jumps Finale Day horse-racing”;

(xii)“Craven Meeting horse-racing”;

(xiii)“Greenham Meeting horse-racing”;

(xiv)“Scottish National Meeting horse-racing”;

(xv)“Track Cycling Nations Cup”;

(xvi)“World Snooker Tour - Betfred World Championship (including qualifiers)”;

(xvii)“British Para Swimming International Meet”;

(xviii)“Qipco Guineas Festival horse-racing”;

(b)at the end insert—

  • Matchroom - World Cup of Pool

  • W Series Test Event

  • Red Bull International Rugby 7s

  • Equestrian Eventing - Aston le Walls International

  • Equestrian Dressage - Wellington International.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020 (S.I. 2020/568) to add and remove events from the list of competitions in Schedule 3, which is relevant to the exemption for elite sportspersons from some of the requirements imposed by those Regulations.
