The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred by section 4(2)(a) of the Fire Safety Act 2021(1), makes the following Regulations.
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Fire Safety Act 2021 (Commencement) (England) Regulations 2022.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.
(3) These Regulations apply in relation to premises(2) in England only.
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of section 1 of the Fire Safety Act 2021 is 16th May 2022.

These Regulations bring into force on 16th May 2022 section 1 of the Fire Safety Act 2021 (c. 24) in relation to premises in England.
Section 2 came into force in England and Wales on 29th June 2021. Section 3 comes into force when section 1 comes into force (section 4(5) of the Act).
An impact assessment has not been published for these Regulations as no impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen independent of the provisions these Regulations bring into force.
