The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 14(6) and 22A(2) of the Football Spectators Act 1989(1), makes this Order.

The Secretary of State considers that the provision made by article 2 of this Order is expedient in order to secure the effective enforcement of Part 2 of that Act.

1989 c. 37. Section 14 was substituted by paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 1 to the Football (Disorder) Act 2000 (c. 25) (“the 2000 Act”) and amended by section 103(1) and (2)(a) of the Policing and Crime Act 2009 (c. 26). There are other amendments not relevant to this Order. Section 22A was inserted by paragraphs 9 and 18 of Schedule 2 to the 2000 Act. There are amendments to section 22A that are not relevant to this Order.
