The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8C(1) and (6) of, and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018(1) and section 47(9) of the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020(2).
In making these Regulations, the Secretary of State has had special regard to the matters listed in section 46(1) of the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020.
In accordance with paragraph 8F(1) and (4) of Schedule 7(3) to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, and section 47(10) of the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020, a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
2018 c. 16, section 8C was inserted by the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020 (c. 1) and amended by the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020 (c. 27). Paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 was amended by paragraph 53 of Schedule 5 to the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020.
Paragraph 8F of Schedule 7 was inserted by paragraph 51 of Schedule 5 to the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020 (c. 1).
