The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State for Wales by Section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977(1) and section 5(1), and paragraph 29(1) of Schedule 2 to the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990(2) and of all other powers enabling the Secretary of State in that behalf and now vested in the National Assembly for Wales(3), considering it appropriate in the interests of the health service to make this Order(4), and after completion of the consultation prescribed under paragraph 29(3) of Schedule 2 to the latter Act(5):
1. This Order may be cited as the National Health Service Trusts (Wales) (Dissolution No. 2) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 1st April 2000.
2.—(1) The University Hospital of Wales and Llandough Hospital National Health Service Trust and the Cardiff and District Community National Health Service Trust are hereby dissolved.
(2) The Orders specified in column (1) of the Schedule to this Order are hereby revoked.

The Cardiff and District Community National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/1118)

This Order provides for the dissolution of the University Hospital of Wales and Llandough Hospital NHS Trust and the Cardiff and District Community NHS Trust and for the revocation of their respective establishment orders.
1977 c. 49; section 126(3) was amended by section 65(2) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 (c. 29) (“the 1990 Act”).
1990 c. 19; section 5(1) was amended by section 2(1) of, and paragraph 69(a) of Schedule 1 to, the Health Authorities Act 1995 (c. 27). Section 5(1) is further amended, in relation to Wales, by section 13(1) of the Health Act 1999 (c. 8).
The functions of the Secretary of State under section 5 of, and Schedule 2 to the 1990 Act were transferred to the National Assembly for Wales by the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672).
See paragraph 29(2)(b) of Schedule 2 to the 1990 Act.
See S.I. 1996/653 to which there have been amendments which do not affect paragraph 29(3).
