The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 140(4), 143(1) and (2) of, and paragraphs 3(1), (3) and (4) of Schedule 6 to the Local Government Finance Act 1988(1) and now vested in the National Assembly for Wales so far as exercisable in Wales.

1988 c. 41. See section 146(6) for the definition of “prescribed”. Section 143(2) is amended by paragraph 72(2) of Schedule 5 to the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (c. 42). Paragraph 3(1) of Schedule 6 is amended, and paragraphs 3(3) and 3(4) inserted, by paragraph 38(12) and (14) of Schedule 5 to the 1989 Act. These powers are devolved, in relation to Wales, to the National Assembly for Wales by the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672); see the reference to the Local Government Finance Act 1988 in Schedule 1.
