The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 29(2) of the Health and Social Care (Quality and Engagement) (Wales) Act 2020(1), make the following Order:
1.—(1) The title of this Order is the Health and Social Care (Quality and Engagement) (Wales) Act 2020 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2023.
(2) In this Order, “the Act” means the Health and Social Care (Quality and Engagement) (Wales) Act 2020.
2.—(1) The following provisions of the Act come into force, to the extent necessary for the purpose of making regulations, on 7 March 2023—
(a)section 4 (duty of candour procedure); and
(b)section 11 (interpretation of “health care” and other terms).
(2) The following provisions of the Act come into force on 7 March 2023—
(a)section 25 (regulations); and
(b)section 28 (power to make transitional etc. provision).

This Order made by the Welsh Minsters brings into force certain provisions of the Health and Social Care (Quality and Engagement) (Wales) Act 2020 (“the Act”).
Article 2(1) of this Order brings the following provisions of the Act into force on 7 March 2023, to the extent necessary for the purpose of enabling regulations to be made under those provisions—
(a)section 4 (duty of candour procedure); and
(b)section 11 (interpretation of “health care” and other terms).
Article 2(2) brings into force section 25 (regulations) and section 28 (power to make transitional etc. provision) on 7 March 2023.
