6.—(1) The quota volume in relation to goods subject to a quota is the total quantity, however expressed, of those goods which may be imported into the United Kingdom as quota goods during each quota period (“quota volume”).
(2) F1...The quota volume in relation to goods subject to a quota is set out in column 5 of the Quota Table as a figure or formula including a unit of measure against the relevant commodity code for those goods and applies to the quota period in the corresponding row of that Table.
[F2(2A) Where more than one figure is entered in column 5 of the Quota Table as the quota volume applying to the quota period in the corresponding row—
(a)the first figure is the quota volume that applied [F3on the commencement of the quota period in 2022] and which continues in effect [F4within the period ending with the day of the next quota close date marking the expiry of the quota period for the quota concerned];
(b)the second figure is the quota volume that applies with effect from the next quota open date following the expiry of the quota period referred to in sub-paragraph (a).]
[F5(2B) In the case of goods subject to a quota identified by the quota numbers 05.1922, 05.2115 and 05.2116, the applicable quota volume is subject to an annual increase as follows—
(a)the quantity set out in column 5 of the Quota Table is the quota volume for the quota period commencing on 1st January 2023 and expiring on 31st December 2023;
(b)for each subsequent quota period, the quota volume is the quantity resulting from applying an increase of 33,000kg to the quota volume that had been in effect during the immediately preceding quota period.]
