1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Fund Cold Weather Payments (General) Amendment Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 1st November 1993.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Social Fund Cold Weather Payments (General) Regulations 1988(1).
2. In paragraph (i) of regulation 1A of the principal Regulations (prescribed description of persons to whom payments for meeting expenses for heating in cold weather may be made)(2), after the word “Regulations” there shall be added the words “, but does not include the allowance specified in paragraph 2A of that Schedule (residential allowances)(3)”.
3. In Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations (Post Office postcode areas assigned to designated National Climatological Message Stations)
(a)entries 10 (Brawdy), 16 (Coningsby), 18 (Cwmbargoed) and 44 (Prestwick) shall be omitted;
(b)for entries 2, 8, 14, 22, 23, 27, 31, 34, 38, 45, 55, 58 and 61, there shall be respectively substituted the entries in Schedule 1 to these Regulations;
(c)new entry 52A (Tulloch Bridge), specified in Schedule 1 to these Regulations, shall be inserted after entry 52 (Trawsfyndd).
4. In Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations (Post Office post code areas and sectors) in Table 1, the entry relating to “Cardiff & Glamorgan” in Schedule 2 to these Regulations shall be inserted after the entry for “New Forest & Isle of Wight” and the entry relating to “Birmingham & Nottingham” shall be substituted in the Table for the existing entry relating to “Birmingham & Nottingham”(4).
