Whereas the council of the London borough of Croydon has applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under section 76 of the Road Traffic Act 1991(1) and the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with section 76(2) of that Act:

NOW, the Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 76(1) and section 77(6) of the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (London Borough of Croydon) (Amendment) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 14th December 1995.

Amendment of the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (London Borough of Croydon) Order 1994

2.  The amendments to the Schedule to the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (London Borough of Croydon) Order 1994(2) set out in the Schedule to this Order shall have effect.

THE SCHEDULE AMENDMENTS TO THE SCHEDULE TO THE ROAD TRAFFIC (SPECIAL PARKING AREA) (LONDON BOROUGH OF CROYDON) ORDER 1994

1.  For paragraph 5 there shall be substituted—

“5.   Banstead Road (A2022) between its junction with Banstead Road (A23) and a point level with the boundary between 37 and 39 Banstead Road (A2022).”

2.  For paragraph 9 there shall be substituted—

“9.   Brighton Road (A235)—

(a) (north west side) between its junction with the A23 and a point 2m south west of the party wall between 924 and 926 Brighton Road;

(b) (south east side) between its junction with the A23 and a point opposite the party wall between 915 and 917 Brighton Road.”

3.  For paragraph 13 there shall be substituted—

“13.   Chipstead Valley Road between its junction with Brighton Road (A23) and a point opposite the party wall between 28 and 30 Chipstead Valley Road.”

4.  For paragraph 18 there shall be substituted—

“18.   Denning Avenue between its junction with Purley Road (A23) and a point 6m west of the party wall between 71 and 73 Denning Avenue.”

5.  For paragraph 27 there shall be substituted—

“27.   Foxley Lane (A2022) between its junction with Foxley Lane (A23) and a point 13m west of the boundary between 8 and 10 Foxley Lane (A2022).”

6.  The following paragraph shall be inserted after paragraph 29 —

“29A.   Godstone Road between its junction with Purley Road and an imaginary straight line drawn between a point on the north eastern kerbline opposite the south eastern flank wall of 1 Godstone Road and a point 16m north west of the north western boundary of 2 Godstone Road, measured along the southern kerbline.”

7.  For paragraph 32 there shall be substituted—

“32.   Grovelands Road between its junction with Brighton Road (A23) and a point 3m south east of the north west boundary of 76 Brighton Road.”

8.  For paragraphs 36 and 37 there shall be substituted—

“36.   Highfield Road between its junction with Purley Way (A23) and a point 1m north east of the south west front wall of 1 Ensign Close.

36A.   High Street, Purley between its junction with Purley Road/Whytecliffe Road South and a point 2m south of the party wall between 6 and 8 High Street.

37.   Imperial Way—

9.  For paragraph 42 there shall be substituted—

11.  For paragraphs 63 and 64 there shall be substituted—

12.  The following paragraph shall be inserted after paragraph 69 —

“69A.   Purley Road between Godstone Road and its junction with the A23 (including all circulatory roads forming part of the gyratory falling outside the trunk road).”

13.  For paragraph 70 there shall be substituted—

“70.   Queensway between its junction with Purley Way (A23) and a point 9m west of the east front wall of 604 Purley Way.”

14.  For paragraph 73 there shall be substituted—

“73.   Russell Hill Road between its junction with Purley Way (A23) and a point opposite the northern boundary of 21 Russell Hill Road.”

15.  For paragraph 78 there shall be substituted—

“78.   Smitham Downs Road between its junction with The Drive and a point 15m south west of the north eastern boundary of 1 Smitham Downs Road.”

16.  For paragraph 80 there shall be substituted—

“80.   Stafford Road between its junction with Purley Way (A23) and a point opposite the party wall of 62 and 64 Stafford Road.”

17.  Paragraph 82 shall be omitted.

30.  For paragraph 132 there shall be substituted—

This Order amends the Schedule to the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (London Borough of Croydon) Order 1994, which lists the roads excluded from the special parking area designated by that Order.
