Note: where speed limits are indicated on the plans relating to this Part (the traffic regulation plans) but are not referenced in this Schedule, they indicate that national speed limits apply in accordance with either:

(a)the national speed limit set out in—

(i)section 86 (speed limits for particular classes of vehicles)(1) of and Schedule 6 (speed limits for particular classes of vehicles)(2) to the 1984 Act; and

(ii)the 70 miles per hour, 60 miles per hour and 50 miles per hour (Temporary Speed Limit) Order 1977 as varied by the 70 miles per hour, 60 miles per hour and 50 miles per hour (Temporary Speed Limit) (Variation) Order 1978 and continued indefinitely by Regulation 2 of the 70 Miles Per Hour, 60 Miles Per Hour and 50 Miles Per Hour (Temporary Speed Limit) (Continuation) Order 1978(3); or

(b)sections 81 and 82 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (which defines speed limits on ‘restricted roads’ by reference to street lighting),

and are not subject to this order. For details of the scheme lighting design, refer to the general arrangement plans.
